This unassuming gem serves one of the tastiest lions mane rendang curry ever. The sauce is thicker than a regular rendang, but that doesn't stop it absolutely popping with flavour. Dynamite !!!

Highly recommended by the barista at Aud's, this slightly oddly located gem serves the best vegetarian Asam Laksa you'll ever eat. Close your eyes and you truly wouldn't know this was plant-based (well, except for the egg).
Many of the vegan and vegetarian restaurants in town are located near the temple Wat Puthanimittam. Vegan Life has some serious chops when it comes to noodle soups bursting with flavour, and is very popular amongst the locals.
Though we only sampled the take-away version, their Indonesian curry with rice was a showstopper. Smack full of flavour and bursting with umami.

If you are down in these parts visiting the excellent Omni Cafe, then walk across the road and have lunch at this tiny, friendly, tasty vegetarian/vegan eatery.
More popular than Harrods at Christmas, this stall serves delicious desserts to a pack of wild followers. Be early because they sell out fast.

Again, not strictly vegetarian or vegan, you can get tasty breakfasts here without meat. Their coffee is roasted by The Roast Things in KL, so it's worth ordering a cup.
Their Aloo Paratha is the stuff of legends, and eating here you can see why. Always a crowd at lunchtime and the hot plate is busy non-stop.
p.s. If you want it vegan ask for them to not fry it in butter/ghee.
Vegans look away, but these pastries are amazing. Their mushroom quiche is great, and their croissants are excellent.
Meat-free Asian dishes done in a clean, minimalist restaurant. The flavours are good, but it's not one of the essential places to go in Ipoh.
Not a vegetarian or vegan place per se, but you can get decent and cheap Indian vegetarian food here, and pretty good chapati.
